Call for contributors

If you are interested in contributing to the project either with text or images, please first read our manifesto.

We are looking for quality submissions from archaeologist | photographers who are pushing the limits with either analogue or digital photography. These submissions should include 3-5 illustrative photographs and a 250 word abstract outlining your particular theoretical approach, methodology, or experiences in the field.

Submissions are due September 30, 2009.

  Hi Ryan, thanks for your interest. Take a look at the call for contributors page, but basically it is around 250 words and some images. We will be blogging the submissions, so the images will get rendered down to 500px x 500px for the web. Send this material over to either me or Colleen by email.

I think this is very important stuff. A good series of photos and images, whether it is field work, artifacts, maps, or illustrations not only makes our work more interesting, it really helps in our explanation and understanding. Anthropology and Archaeology are extremely visual, and I think much of the field is finally beginning to realize this.
